The clients who benefit most from working with me are: - seeking a gentle, compassionate therapist who is direct and takes an active role in treatment - part of the LGBTQ+ community - longing to deeper their healing with body-based emotional experiencing - looking for trauma healing, especially around sex and betrayal issues - wanting to create lives of integrity and be accountable for past behavior

My Approach to Helping

My psychotherapy approach is a blend of my training and experience in Humanistic, Psychodynamic and Cognitive-Behavioral therapies. In addition, I have training in Trauma-informed, Attachment-based, Experiential, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral and Addictive Disease approaches. What this means in practice is that I meet you with a broad range of methods and 25+ years of experience enabling me to tailor our work to best meet your needs. It' s my honor to create a space where you feel fully seen and heard, and to enter into a journey with you toward your healing and wholeness. Some people prefer more talk therapy, some prefer more focus on feelings and physical experiences. I am interested in what works best for you and my commitment is to provide a safe, confidential, supportive environment for your healing and personal growth.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. Since 1992, I have treated individuals, couples and families experiencing a broad range of mental health and addiction problems in both outpatient and residential settings. I have had specialized training in treating depression, anxiety, trauma, sexual behavior problems, and relationship issues including those experienced by sexual and gender minorities. I hold the Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist (CSAT) credential, and am a provider of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. In recent years, my concentration has been in treating individuals and couples experiencing sex and love addiction, intimacy disorders, betrayal, trauma, depression, and relationship problems. A member of the queer community, I also specialize in treating LGBTQ individuals. I work from a sex and kink-positive framework respecting every person's expression of authentic self.
