My Ideal Client

My clients are often highly motivated to make changes in their lives. Not content to keep sitting in the swirl of anxiety or depression, they want tools and support in making progress in areas of life most meaningful to them.

My Approach to Helping

As a solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral therapist, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life worth celebrating. While you can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve the challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling, balanced, and meaningful life. I will work to build an individualized treatment plan in collaboration with you, so you can get the most from our time together.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) registered with the states of Oregon and Washington. I conduct myself and my services in accordance with the ethics and guidelines set forth from the Washington and Oregon Boards of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists, as well as the ACA Ethical Code of the Oregon Counseling Association and the American Counseling Association. I am also a member of the ACA. I have a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Pacific University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Business Administration from UCLA. In addition to my education and clinical training, I have significant and varied professional and life experiences to draw on in service of the needs of my clients.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) External link

Cognitive-behavioral therapy is considered among the most rapid in terms of results obtained. What enables CBT to be briefer is its highly instructive nature and the fact that it makes use of homework assignments. CBT is time-limited in that we help clients understand at the very beginning of the therapy process that there will be a point when the formal therapy will end.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) External link

ACT is a mindfulness based method of treating anxiety and other disorders and challenges. It's empirically supported and proven to be effective.

  • Solution Focused Brief Therapy External link

If you are struggling with a specific issue, SFBT is effective in finding an effective way to address it.
