My Approach

I believe that people are experts in their own lives and my approach to therapy is based on consent. I ensure that the change that I am working towards is the change that the client, couple, or family wants, and that changes implemented are based on principles of equity and justice. As a therapist, I utilize Solution Focused, Narrative, and Internal Family Systems approaches to help clients, couples, and families. I use these therapies to help clients understand and validate their own experiences. Then we co-construct new ways of interacting with themselves, their families, their communities, and larger societal systems that allow them to be more fully seen and acknowledged without suppressing the pieces of themselves that make them vibrant and unique.

My Background

I hold a Master’s Degree in Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapy from Lewis & Clark College, a COAMFTE accredited program. COAMFTE holds its accredited programs to the highest standards of Family Systems education and training. Lewis & Clark requires student to complete a rigorous and comprehensive array of coursework and 500 hours of direct client contact, including 250 hours with couples and families. Lewis & Clark’s curriculum focuses on issues of social justice and equity.
