My Approach

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Bible-based therapy with prayer are the two therapies I use most frequently. However, no two people or situations are alike so I have a variety of orientations, tools, and styles that I can implement for the best results based on your needs. While I believe no therapist can practice value-free counseling, and I choose to live my life following the example of Jesus Christ, I respect each person's beliefs and do not use Bible-based therapy and prayer with those who do not request such. With couples thinking of getting married, or those already married, I often use Prepare-Enrich for assessment and customized therapy.

My Background

When some of my children were ready to launch I wanted to find a way to use the numerous experiences of my life to benefit others. Counseling seemed a good fit so I returned to school. In the summer of 2008 I received a Master of Arts in Human Services Counseling from Regent University, though I started practicing the year prior when I finished my Bachelor's in Psychology. Helping couples find ways to live out the marriage they always dreamed of, helping children and teens overcome anxiety and trauma, helping families establish healthy communication and create meaningful rituals, and increase trust and respect for each other, helping people with all kinds of relationship concerns- this is what I love to do! There is something truly special about being part of the process of people finding that peace and contentment they were longing for but didn't know how to get there. It would be my privilege to walk with you on your journey.
