My Approach to Helping

I integrate mindful, experiential techniques into my work from attachment therapy, EMDR, and Hakomi. I believe all people come into the world with potential to be their best, authentic selves. We then have experiences from which we develop beliefs about the world and strategies for how to navigate through it. These become a template for living our lives and we often apply them to situations and relationships where they don't work. Together, we will work to reveal deeply held beliefs that may be blocking you. In my view, these beliefs solidified in response to emotional wounding in childhood, or to trauma. In a safe environment, I will provide support, empathy, and understanding. Our relationship can be a foundation for safe exploration and evolution. Together, we may be able to fill in missing experiences or reprocess traumas that have formed limiting beliefs. With experience and support, you can reset your patterns and experience more fulfilling ways of interacting with the world.

Why I am a Good Fit for You

I earned an M.S from Portland State University, where I focused on marital, couples and family therapy. I have had professional training in the Hakomi Method, RC-S, and Attachment from M.E.T.A., where I also completed a year-long internship. I have completed full basic training in EMDR, along with Flash Technique and Attachment Focused EMDR. I also have training in grief counseling from The Dougy Center for Grieving Children and Families, where I was a volunteer facilitator. Before this, I earned a B.A. in English-Theatre from Barnard College and an M.F.A from the Yale School of Drama. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
