My Ideal Client

The majority of my clients are young and middle-aged adults from historically marginalized cultures and racial backgrounds. In order to serve our community efficiently, I prioritize individuals from historically marginalized groups or those with specific cultural needs..

My Approach to Helping

I approach my work with compassion, full presence, and a nonjudgmental stance, focusing on individuals' strengths. Witnessing the transformative journey of self-acceptance is a profound passion of mine. It would be an honor to earn your trust and accompany you on this special path. Taking into account each person's unique wishes and needs, I have effectively utilized therapeutic interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Somatic Experiencing (SE), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Mindfulness. My experience includes working with diverse populations, including domestic violence survivors, unaccompanied immigrant and refugee youth, and individuals addressing trauma, grief, depression, substance use problems, psychosis, and anxiety. While recognizing the impact of oppression, ableism, racism, misogyny, heterosexism, and trauma on well-being, I commit time to understanding the resources, qualities, values, and resilience of those under my care.

My Values as a Therapist

I hold the belief that humans are inherently social beings, continually influencing and being influenced by their environment. Furthermore, I acknowledge the profound connection between the body and mind. Following traumatic experiences, our bodies may retain the impact of those events as we strive to endure and move forward with our lives. Lacking sufficient support, these traumas can become overwhelming, manifesting in diverse forms like anxiety, depression, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), substance abuse, and a range of other physical and mental health challenges.
