My Approach

I love helping my clients reconnect with a sense of inner strength and direction as we work with emotions, thoughts and behaviors. My approach is grounded in emotion-focused therapy, family systems theory, narrative work and Gottman principles. I will help you identify and articulate your needs, explore what might be getting in your way, and challenge old, unhelpful patterns, strengthening your relationships with yourself and your loved ones. In general, I find that each client and couple brings different problems into the room to work on, but each of you will also bring your own beautiful strengths, which we can use to help propel you towards genuine satisfaction in your life. In our work together, I will bring a calm presence and an open heart to help you hold the burdens that you are carrying. I welcome all forms of relationships and identities, and particularly enjoy working with fellow members of the LGBTQ community.

My Background

I hold a Master's Degree in Counseling from Portland State University, with a specialization in Marital, Couple and Family Counseling, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. I am an LPC Intern under the supervision of Dr. Lisa Aasheim, and am a Nationally Certified Counselor. I have been working in mental health for over four years, including at a community counseling clinic, an outpatient eating disorder treatment center, as a family counselor at Legacy Emanuel, and currently in private practice. I have worked extensively with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, family dynamics, parenting challenges, gender identity concerns, eating disorders, body image, addictions, and grief and loss, among others.
