My Approach to Helping

As a therapist, I want you to have center stage during your sessions. I am known to ask questions and sit back and listen to stories. I love to be curious and compassionate, but I can also be direct and call a person on their bullshit if needed (but usually with a smile). Therapy isn't easy, but honestly, life isn't easy, especially if you're living a life that doesn't fit the cookie-cutter societal mold. It's hard to say what a typical session with me would look like because everyone is unique, and I like to tailor my work to the people in the session. We will look at underlying thoughts and beliefs driving the issues you and your partner(s) face. I will help you learn to identify and tolerate discomfort. Together, we will discover what you need and identify strategies to help you accomplish your therapy goals.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I work and study a lot, but I also like to have fun. I love exploring Portland and have a special place in my heart for Mt. Tabor. It holds memories all the way back from childhood and is a great place to get nostalgic. I could spend a month at Seaside and another month touring all of the McMenamins soaking pools!
