Kristin Schuchman

Social Worker

I work with individuals in transition, whether they’re changing careers, newly separated or divorced, or re-launching into the workforce after an absence (i.e., raising kids or returning to school). I love helping people unlock inner potential and build fulfilling professional lives.

My Approach

To help clients overcome work-related stress, trauma and anxiety, I use approach that combines mindfulness with CBT and psychodynamic approaches to explore root causes. For issues related to personality-related career transition, I am well-versed in a variety of career assessments, such as Myers Briggs Type Indicator, Strengthsfinders, Strong Inventory and DISC.

My Background

My MSW gave me the tools to help clients overcome self-limiting doubts, stress, anxiety and past work trauma while my experiences running a branding business and a women's magazine (Nervy Girl) trained me to sharpen clients' goal-setting skills and expand their network. As a mother who returned to school after 40, I am especially attuned to the needs of midlife professionals in transition. I offer sliding scale rates to new graduates.
