My Background and Approach

I work from a psychodynamic perspective with a narrative approach. The stories that we learned as children can be examined to see if they are useful and accurate as we become adults and transition throughout life. I studied psychology as an undergraduate and obtained a Masters of Counseling Psychology from Lewis and Clark College with additional training in health law and policy and meditation.

Why I am a Good Fit for You

It can be helpful to speak with a therapist about current events including climate change, the ongoing global pandemic, systemic injustice, and a political system that is pushing people apart instead of unifying. I also work with people who are actively seeking to change their relationships to substances and problem behaviors and provide support during periods of transition. I have additional training around problem substance use, gambling, and internet use. I believe that mental health treatment should not be stigmatized. I offer a reduced fees for individuals with demonstrable need. Please reach out and inquire if this is a barrier. I also do not use insurance, so fewer hassles and increased confidentiality for you.
