My Ideal Client

I work with thoughtful, caring adults and teens, who grew up in families where being “the good one” felt like the only safe option. They learned to read everyone else’s needs before their own, kept the peace at all costs, and became experts in navigating other's emotions. On the outside, you look strong and capable. On the inside, you’re anxious, overwhelmed, and tired of saying “yes” when you desperately need a break.

My Approach to Helping

My style is warm, collaborative, and caring. Therapy is where you have the opportunity to learn a new way of being: one where you get to take up space, have needs, and build relationships that don’t require you to disappear. You’ll learn how to feel safe being yourself—not the version of you that keeps everyone comfortable.

My Values as a Therapist

I believe we all have the capacity to heal from the results of past traumas and difficult experiences, if we are willing to do the work and try new ways of being and relating. In the therapeutic relationship I value building trust, respect for each person's way of making meaning, and facilitating the development of personal empowerment. I want the people that I support to live authentically within their identity and relationships, have clear direction, and in alignment with their values.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Solution Focused Brief Therapy External link

Setting goals to work toward allows us to be future-oriented and build motivation for where you want to go- in relationships, in academics or the workplace.

  • EcoTherapy External link

One of the most powerful tools that we can use for supporting mental health is connection with nature, in a way that feelings meaningful and empowering to you. Time in nature supports the nervous system, regulation, identity, and belonging.

  • Psychodynamic  External link

Sometimes exploring the past allows us to better understand relational patterns in the present. The psychodynamic approach allows opportunities to foster self compassion and better understand oneself.
