My Ideal Client

So often, humans find themselves in the mess of stuckness caused by the inevitable tragedy of suffering. Our pain can get in the way of knowing our authentic self. I, myself, am human first, therapist second. I see therapy as a way to recenter & come back into your own knowing of who you are and how... maybe... you just got lost in the chaos of life. Folx I work with can expect to gain a radical acceptance of being human and learn how to show up to it with the love and care they deserve.

My Approach to Helping

I practice Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as my primary modality of therapy. ACT is a form of therapy that utilizes a process based approach to understanding your individual story and pain. Within this framework, you will invite your whole self along for the journey and find guidance by connecting to your deepest values in order to move towards a life of purpose and vitality. Expect therapy with me to feel as though you are turning your pain into a poem that holds power to heal and inspire.

My Values as a Therapist

I like to think of my vibe as warm, human, humorous (well... respectively)... a gentle spirit in this wild life. As a queer therapist, I passionately work to provide a safe, inclusive environment for folx from all journeys and am passionate on continuing to educate myself on how to meet folx where they are. In addition, I have experience writing WPATH quality letters for gender affirming care supporting trans individuals through gender affirming surgery. I have loved many trans folx in my own personal life & feel passionate about continuing my growth in serving trans folx. In my personal time I, quite frankly, just enjoy being human. I love to connect with others & nature or spending time with my kids. I am relentless in trying something new, traveling, or picking up a different hobby. I strongly value experience and just how deeply our daily living can teach us about who we are and what we are capable of. You will always find me approaching life from the core of my values.

As a queer therapist, myself, I take special care to stay up to date on current events, research, & cultural impacts of the queer community. When choosing continuing education, I always include courses or conferences with strong emphasis on mental health considerations for the LGBTQ community. I am plugged into local queer communities and have created relationships with queer affirming. I have training and experience supporting trans folx through gender affirming care using WPATH standards.
