My Ideal Client

I work with people who want their life & relationships to be better & for their anxious parts to feel calm & connected. Perhaps you experienced a traumatic event(s) & know it is still wreaking havoc with your well-being & relationships. Or maybe you're feeling overwhelmed by life or an emergent situation & could use support to move through the arising emotions. It could be that you are just plain unhappy & are unsure as to why. I can help.

My Approach to Helping

By bringing warmth and reflection, together we re-wire old thoughts and behaviors which aren't serving you and help you find new pathways to living an authentic, self compassionate life. We slow down and look at ways anxiety/depression may have once been protective, but now often sabotage you. We change the question from "What's wrong with me?" to "What happened to me?" going into your world with curiosity and compassion. We slow down and make sense of what is getting in your way and keeps you feeling stuck. Through an attachment lens we'll take care of your adaptive child so that your wise adult can lead.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

The people I work with are amazing! I believe all of my clients bring with them all the wisdom they need to live a rich life. You don't need saving nor fixing, rather someone to accompany you as you vulnerably tell your story and have someone "get it”. I am here to help you sift through the feelings that were dismissed either by you or others (or both) & help you make sense of how they impact you today. We’ll also listen to the parts of you that are longing to thrive. For couples, I work with an Emotionally Focused Therapy lens which looks at our nervous system & the signs of safety or unsafely which may arise in relationship. Our history informs us & can show up in our current relationships in ways that tell us to protect or protest, to get louder or to shut down. Then negative cycles may occur. We'll look at these young, adaptive parts that need soothing, allowing our wiser parts to eventually take the lead, helping you to have healthier and more connected relationships.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Anxiety External link

I work with those anxious parts of you that sneak in and tend to take over, keeping you from being present right where you are. Depression often comes along for the ride since connection is interrupted when anxious parts are big. We sit ever so patiently and let these parts inform us so that they can feel safe, seen and soothed.

  • Relationship / Marriage Issues External link

Working with you to develop healthy/healthier relationships with others and even with yourself is something I love to do. I also work with couple's who are struggling to find connection even when they love one another.
