My Ideal Client

I have enjoyed working with women in recovery from substance abuse, domestic violence and copedepency and offer depth of understanding and experience. I spent many years providing mental health services to Early Head Start and Head Start families developing sound understanding of attachment, parenting, the impact of disabilities and single-parenting. My approach is eclectic and based on person-centered, family systems and experiential strategies. I have a background in play therapy and sandtray.

My Approach to Helping

I enjoy working with women in recovery from substances, domestic violence and codependency and learned that clients grow at their own rate and pace. I am endorsed as Infant Mental Health Family Specialist by Oregon Infant Mental Health Association and am endorsed as a Circle of Security Parent educator. I enjoy working with women of all ages and will work collaboratively with you to help you grow at your own pace.

Why I Became a Therapist

I was raised in a dysfunctional family and learned coping mechanisms that caused me to become codependent. I ended up marrying an abusive alcoholic and had three children before I discovered Al-Anon which helped me begin to heal. Based on relationships I made in Al-Anon I was encouraged to go back to college to become a therapist. I intimately understand the struggles of single-parenthood, poverty, codependency. If I can recover, heal and grow, so can you!
