My Ideal Client

Anxiety, sleep issues, depression, parenting stress, or feeling burned out? Perhaps you have a story you don't think others would understand? Often when we have been through difficult times we begin to simply survive. This survival can feel never ending and lead to physical, emotional, relational, spiritual and employment problems. We may even view ourselves as unimportant or unworthy of change. I guide you to understand your story, process the impact and grow in a safe non-judgmental manner.

My Background and Approach

For years I have supported those with trauma stories that some think are tough. I understand the feelings of vulnerability in opening up about yourself in therapy. I place priority on building trust with you first and continuing to use gentle transparency throughout. I have over 20 years of experience and training in trauma, attachment and mental health issues for adults & children working with domestic violence organizations, adoption/foster care agencies, and family support organizations. I spent five years working intensely with kids in mental health seeking to support parents and families in overcoming barriers. Through this work I saw that an approach that works for one may not work for another. Therefore, I seek to get to know you and issues you wish to work on in therapy. I use a collaborative and individual approach and check in throughout the therapy relationship for effectiveness often reflecting back on progress.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I hold a value that each person has a story that impacts who they are and how they interact with others. Working together we can gain understanding and grow from this to a calm, connected, curious, confident, compassionate, clear and courageous person. I consider myself a constant learner and naturally curious. Due to this I have training in various therapy approaches such as Story Informed Trauma Therapy, Parent-Child Interactive Therapy, Sand tray therapy, Child-Parent Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Collaborative Problem Solving, ARC (Attachment, Regulation and Competency), various play therapies, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Brainspotting, Advanced Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Mindfulness and EFT tapping. More recently, I have been learning about narcissistic abuse and ways to heal from these subtly unhealthy relationships.
