My Ideal Client

Making the decision to seek out therapy can be intimidating, and finding the right therapist is tough. The reality is, life is inherently challenging; it comes with pain and struggle. We all need support from time to time. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, family stressors, or other challenges, it is possible to live a life filled with meaningful experiences and relationships.

My Approach to Helping

I provide individual counseling to adolescents and adults. I maintain a strengths-based and client-centered approach to counseling. As a therapist, I take a respectful and collaborative approach. I understand you are the expert on your life, experiences, and relationships. I work with you to form goals that are meaningful to you and help you form lasting positive change in your life. I have experience working with youth and adults in medical and educational settings. I am currently a practicing middle school counselor so I offer evening and weekend appointments.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe all individuals have the innate skills and resources within them to overcome life’s challenges; sometimes we all need a little support in harnessing our inner strengths and abilities. Environmental and systemic barriers often provide a challenge to our mental health and well-being. Issues including systemic racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, classism, ableism, ageism, and xenophobia plague our society; and while these issues impact all of us, they disproportionately and more deeply impact individuals and communities who maintain minority identities. Growing up in a community that did not reflect my identity or culture, I am intimately familiar with the struggle that can come with trying to establish your identity and place in a system that was not designed for you.
