My Approach to Helping

My approach to working with new clients is non-directive, welcoming, and curious. I want to learn about you, your life experiences, and how we can work together to help you reach your goals. Often, self-doubt and self-criticism keep us from reaching our goals, leading to frustration and feelings of powerlessness. Our relationship to ourselves is an often overlooked component of our overall wellbeing and quality of life. In our work together, we can begin to challenge the cycle of automatic thoughts and beliefs you may have felt stuck in for years.

My Values as a Therapist

I graduated from Portland State University with a Masters in Social Work in 2017. I have worked at the Jewish Family & Child Service since 2016, first as an intern and then as a member of staff. I am currently earning my clinical hours towards my license in clinical social work (LCSW). My therapeutic approach is underscored by the tenets of Person Centered, Trauma Informed Care, which addresses the ramifications of traumatic experience that a person may have experienced. My approach to working with new clients is non-directive, welcoming, and curious. My theoretical orientations include cognitive-behavioral, acceptance and commitment, mindfulness-based, and solution-focused.
