My Ideal Client

Have you struggled to connect with a therapist because it feels like they could never understand what you're going through? Have you been shoved into social boxes that don't fit you, and it's tearing you apart from the inside? This world creates so many opportunities to place humans in the "other" category. My clients often describe themselves as LGBTQIA2S+, Polyamorous/non-monogamous, as having PTSD, ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, and as being survivors of DV, SA, and childhood trauma.

My Approach to Helping

I believe that all people deserve grace, compassion, dignity, and autonomy to decide what "happiness" looks like for them. I operate from a trauma-informed place that is rooted in a cognitive-behavioral, client-centered approach. I believe that more people are walking around with trauma than there are those that have not experienced trauma. I practice counseling with the understanding that all of us can cause harm even without knowing it; it is my job to be receptive to the trauma my patients have experienced and to create space that honors that journey they have experienced before coming to therapy and the one of growth they are walking now. It is always my goal to create supported space that feels less terrifying to address the mental health elements of your life that stop you from living your dreams.

Why I Became a Therapist

I was once a person seeking therapy and was lost in a sea of clinicians who had no lived experience that matched mine, neurotypical approaches to treatment, and placating natures that made me feel less seen. I am Autistic, and manage my own mental health conditions, which means that, for my clients, my shared lived experience provides a unique perspective on growth, change, and healing. I am white-presenting, BIPOC, queer person, living with my polyamorous partners, and I regularly find myself in community spaces providing advocacy, crisis support, community education, and mutual aid support. In the summers, I volunteer with White Bird Rock Medicine as a Crisis Worker in events that fund White Bird's CAHOOTS and service clinic funding.
