My Ideal Client

Cheri has counseled adults, and youth in a middle school and high school setting, implementing intervention services for substance use supports. Her previous work as a child and family therapist aligned with my passion for family preservation work by providing support services to help keep youth and families together in their homes and communities. She works with Adults, children, and families by walking beside then on their path to find inner healing and their best self.

My Background and Approach

Cheri received both her bachelor and master degree (MSW) in social work. Cheri has been providing support services in the mental health field since 2014. Cheri integrates multiple sources of knowledge, including research-based knowledge, and practice wisdom to treat the whole person. Cheri’s uses a trauma informed approach integrating the use of creative arts, mindfulness, Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and other best practices in a collaborative process that is guided by the client. She has experience treating depression, anxiety, trauma related concerns, PTSD, family issues, parenting, communication issues, grief, addiction, parenting, self-worth, finding purpose, life transitions and general emotional difficulties.

Above all she is dedicated to her own ongoing development as a counselor and take additional classes to improve my work with adults, children, and families. Using a systems lens to understand ones biological, social, cultural, psychological, and spiritual development to help clients overcome barriers, achieve their goals and well-being helps me be not only a compassionate clinician but also a professional always using cutting edge research informed practices with my clients.
