My Ideal Client

My clients are folks who are experiencing life transitions. I work with clients who are asking big questions about identity, meaning, and who they want to be in the world. From a humanistic perspective I help clients ask questions about 1. Who am I 2. How do I fully embody that person. We want to become authentic, fully actualized people, and I see the primary goal of therapy as helping everyone to realize that aim. This process is always individual and looks different from person to person.

My Approach to Helping

I work with my clients from an Existential and Client-Centered perspective. What this means is that I see the primary goal of therapy as helping my clients discover themselves more fully, and to move toward living with greater authenticity, meaning, and clarity of purpose. I help clients to look at big questions and use that to increase connection with themselves and others. I help clients move through life transitions: grief, illness, graduation, divorce, etc. I believe that these moments are an opportunity to examine yourself fully, and learn to engage with life more intimately, especially when things are hard. I particularly enjoy working with male identifying folks who are struggling with issues of modernity. I help clients to build more compassionate, empathic, and human relationships within their experience of masculinity and to eschew harmful online content through genuine connection. All who are curious to examine themselves more fully are welcome in my office.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a person with a deep interest in the self and consciousness. I am fascinated by psychology, and this unique experience called 'life'. I studied Clinical Psychology with the aim of understanding myself better and to help others understand themselves. I am a fundamental believer in the innate mysteriousness of this existence. I use a combination of clinical psychology, existential philosophy, and mindfulness practices to help my clients examine their lives deeply and authentically. I have specialty training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Existential Therapy. I also recognize that we exist in communities and systems, and believe psychological wellness occurs in the context of community. I enjoy helping clients build and maintain their communities and systems of support.
