My Ideal Client

I am passionate about working with couples and families who are struggling. Coming from a military background I look forward to serving the veteran community. Having lived through the culture shock of returning home I hope to help individuals reassimilate as well as help improve communication lines between veterans and their families. I hope to work with individuals, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds. I am excited to help, learn, and grow as a person and as a counselor.

My Background

I was raised in a military family, who moved often, all over the world. This time in my life cemented the need for strong relationships within the family system. Later in life, I enlisted in the Marine Corps and returned as a combat veteran. I understand how difficult it can be to reintegrate and how hard it can be to ask for help. I believe that there is always a chance to grow stronger more meaningful relationships with one another. I am excited to use my knowledge, military background, and empathy to connect, work and pilot services toward proving care with individuals, couples, and groups. I hope to promote healthy relationships and help others with their struggles involving PTSD, depression, anxiety, trauma while building a positive sense of self. I am passionate and empathetic, positive yet realistic.

Why I Became a Therapist

I became a therapist to help others. Which may sound a bit obvious, but it’s true. Not long after I graduated from high school a close friend talked to me about his troubles since returning home from the service. I disliked the fact that I could not help more than simply listening, I decided I needed to do something to help others struggling with mental health. After my enlistment I returned home and started my bachelor’s degree and finally leading me to where I am now, working on my master’s degree. It has been a long and incredibly rewarding journey; I look forward to listening and helping others any way I can.
