My Ideal Client

I help clients who would like to experience more connection, safety, and calm. Especially traumatic or stressful life events can cause us to get stuck in a fight-flight or freeze pattern. This stuckness often presents as frequent anxiety, anger, sadness, or numbness which we can process together, so it doesn't negatively affect your life.

My Approach to Helping

My therapeutic approach to hypnosis is complemented by other approaches like Somatic Experiencing, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, psychodynamic and solution focused techniques, to name just a few. The learning of practical tools to manage their emotions help my clients to be independent and become more in control of their life and their reactions to it. If you want to experience the peaceful state of hypnosis that promotes a learning that goes deeper and tap into unused potentials, then my multifaceted treatment approach is right for you.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Growing up in Germany as the daughter of a dentist, I came in contact with hypnotherapeutic methods early on. Extensive therapy helped me manage anxiety in my own life. This life experience and my continuing education and learnings in psychology inform and enrich my clinical practice. In Germany I studied Anthropology and Science of Religion and later I gained over 600 hours of training in a Master's program in Clinical Hypnotherapy at the University of West London, UK. To maintain high standards of care I undergo regular supervision and am a certified member of the International Association of Counselors and Therapists (IACT).

Techniques I Use

  • Somatic Therapy (Body Centered) External link

In my practice, I use Somatic Experiencing and other body-focused approaches like EMDR because of their effectiveness in dealing with trauma.

  • Eclectic External link

Hypnotherapy as I learned and practice it includes many psychotherapeutic approaches to strive towards holistic treatment. My practice involves for example Hypnosis, Somatic Experiencing, NLP, cognitive behavioral, mindfulness based and solution focused methods, Internal Family Systems, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), Inner child work and approaches informed by polyvagal theory.

Issues I Treat

  • Anxiety External link

No one can be anxious and relaxed at the same time. Hypnosis is a very effective way of relaxing. I teach my patients self-hypnosis, breathing techniques, mindfulness and other tools to experience more control and make changes to their inner and outer world.

  • Insomnia External link

People suffering from insomnia respond very well to hypnotic interventions. The treatment may consist of reducing anxiety and stress responses, processing emotions, or making behavioral changes.

  • Self-Esteem External link

If you are dealing with self-esteem issues, then you know this: the views of ourselves can be distorted at times. Hypnotic work and a solution and strength focused intervention can help immensely to see yourself in a new clearer light and connect to your self-worth. This connection exceeds the theoretical rational knowledge of your worth. It is an experiential awareness of self-love and gratitude.

  • Social Phobia External link

Social phobia is often caused by negative social conditioning and an increased need for protection. Learning relaxation techniques, resolving past trauma, behavioral changes, and experiencing safety and calming states in hypnosis helped many of my clients manage their anxiety.

  • Personal Growth External link

Do you feel stuck or do you feel unfulfilled in some part of your life? The need for personal growth often comes out of the feeling that there is a discrepancy between someone's needs, values and their life. Together we can find out what it is that you are looking to grow towards and what has been blocking you in the past.
