My Ideal Client

Building a connection with ourselves is the key to being able to connect and build relationships with others. For most of us, having a sense of belonging and connection is essential, this is especially true for the therapeutic relationship. My goal is to provide a space where all parties can bring their experience, knowledge and wisdom in order to gain insight, to become more self-aware and understanding as well as a more accurate communicator with the self and others.

My Background and Approach

My therapeutic style leans towards behavior therapy with an emphasis on relational and emotional exploration. I draw upon evidence-based behavioral approaches in a way that is custom-tailored to each person in front of me. I received my master’s degree in social work from Portland State University and I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Oregon and Washington. I am trained and have over 6 years of providing Prolonged Exposure, a highly effective trauma treatment. I also provide a cognitive based trauma treatment, called Cognitive Processing Therapy. For the last 9 years I have been providing Dialectical Behavior Therapy at a local clinic. My experience includes adult and teen individual therapy, family and couples’ therapy and facilitating DBT skills groups. Though I am a DBT-Linehan Board of Certification Certified Clinician, I do not provide certified DBT treatment as that would entail additional services.
