My Ideal Client

My intention is to create a space that is an anti-oppressive by celebrating diversity, gender/sexual identity and body positivity. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults for individual, family, couples, and parenting support. I have many years of experience working with grief and loss, trauma and victims of sexual and domestic violence and religious trauma. I'm passionate about supporting individuals through fertility difficulties, prenatal, and postpartum

My Background and Approach

My approach is trauma-informed, warm, nonjudgmental, and inclusive. With a background in social work, my approach considers the individual in the context of their social environment, family, and larger societal systems. I believe the best therapeutic relationship is formed by providing a validating and safe environment and working alongside you to create attainable goals. Together we will build your confidence and work toward positive growth and change. I utilize interventions and theories primarily from dialectical behavioral therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems, mindfulness, art and play therapy all within a strength-based model.

My Values as a Therapist

My values as a therapist are to create a space that is anti-oppressive, accepting, and a safe space for all individuals and families, regardless of race, gender, or sexual orientation. I believe in providing a client-centered approach and meeting you where you're at to work toward the change and healing you want in your life. I believe in being an advocate for change both at work and in my own life by engaging and participating in social justice movements such as the Black Lives Matter movement and support equity in mental health by striving to remove barriers to accessing treatment.

    I create a validating and safe environment for all family members to express their emotions and concerns. I teach skills to improve communication and conflict resolution to strengthen trust and relationships and begin healing.

  • Play Therapy  External link

    I use play therapy to build trust and a positive relationship with young children and teach communication, emotional identification and expression, and improve learn positive emotional and social skills.

    I have several years experience working specifically in women's issues. I'm passionate about supporting women through all stages of fertility including pregnancy, postpartum, infertility, loss of pregnancy, etc.

    I have several years experience working as a family therapist. I strive to create a safe environment for all family members to be able to express themselves, feel heard and validated, and work toward solutions to reduce conflict, improve communication, and work toward healing. Divorce, couples therapy, coparenting, relationship, marriage and parenting difficulties.

    I have several years experience and training in domestic violence and working with victims of sexual, physical, emotional, and financial abuse. I provide a safe, validating space and provide tools to empower victims to begin healing.

  • Child or Adolescent Issues External link

    I've worked for several years as a child and family therapist with child and adolescents. I have worked with children with depression, anxiety, PTSD, adjustment disorders, family conflict, oppositional defiant disorder, school refusal, and sexual, physical, and emotional abuse. I provide a warm, validating environment for children and use art and play to engage children while teaching children how to identify and express emotions and use positive coping skills.

    I have several years experience working as a family therapist for both children and adolescents. I work with parents to find parenting techniques and interventions that are effective and in line with their family values. I work to empower parents to create healthy communication and parenting styles to strengthen relationships with their children, create positive changes at home, and reduce conflict.
