Employing mind/body integration and traditional talk-therapy, we will use mindful awareness of the present moment to give you more space, become more deeply aware of your needs, and align with a more authentic you; to feel more compassion toward yourself and others. With space to slow down in session, you may more closely examine what feels authentic. Learning to listen to your body's voice will reveal deeper truths. To deepen my holistic approach, I did a year Internship in Somatic Psychotherapy at Portland’s META Clinic, in addition to training in Integral Counseling in San Francisco.

Growing up gay in a conservative farm community, I experienced and internalized significant early trauma. Healing from that trauma inspired my dedication to help others heal and create self-empowered lives. I freed myself from that environment and became a teacher and education counselor, working in Latin America, Asia and Europe. I feel very comfortable working with multicultural folks. With life-long interests in literature, I enjoyed a long stint in the literary work promoting writers and their works for Powell's Books. I came to therapy later in life to find deep healing from early trauma. Motivated by my own healing, I earned my MA from the California Institute of Integral Studies in Integral Counseling Psychology. I deepened my somatic practice at Portland's Hakomi Institute META Clinic. Being gay, growing up in a traumatic environment, living in other cultures helped me understand what it is to be an outsider, a misfit. My life and work has confirmed there is power in otherness
