My Ideal Client

Over time I have come to enjoy working more closely with those experiencing life transitions such as going to college, moving, leaving home for the first time, beginning or ending a relationship, career start or change, transitioning into part-time parenting, etc. This can also include the journey of figuring out who you are or who you want to be. With constant change, transitions, and on-going demands, it is important to maintain, strengthen, and cultivate our needs, wants, and desires in life.

My Approach to Helping

My counseling approach is holistic, emotion focused, and informed through an attachment-based perspective, where relationship building, communication, and emotional expression lie at the foundation. I believe in creating an environment where you can feel safe and comfortable in expressing yourself, as you are and for who you are, while providing you with ongoing support and guidance to work towards collaborative goals and change. As a therapist, I hold a safe and compassionate space for each client, so that they feel held and supported in a way that allows them to create their own profound transformation. All people are capable of change.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I received my Master's degree in Professional Mental Health Counseling from Lewis and Clark and my Bachelor's in Psychology from the University of Washington. My previous occupations have included community mental health centers, schools, clinical day treatment, and national crisis support. Throughout my career I have been able to work with a range of clients presenting with various experiences and ranging in age groups from 2 years old and up.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Holistic External link

I believe in seeing a person as a whole, influenced and impacted by all areas of life, coming together as our own unique experience and perception of the world around us.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Anxiety External link

Whether you call it anxiety, stress, worry, overwhelm, etc... each emotion, while unique in it's experience for each of us, is simultaneously universal for us all. Sometimes our emotions can help us be more productive, and other times it can be paralyzing. Regardless of where and how you are experiencing your distress, working together in a safe and dedicated space can help to sift through the chaos and find skills and tools to not only work through, but also mitigate it's recurrence over time.
