My Ideal Client

*currently accepting new clients*. I am most interested in working with folks who are struggling with the follow things: Those dealing with eating disorders, disordered eating, body shame, and exercise addiction. Those dealing with OCD and who are interested in treatment via an Inference-based therapy (IBT). Those struggling with PTSD and/or trauma symptoms. Individuals interested in EMDR therapy. Those struggling with anxiety, depression, and/or suicidal ideation.

My Approach to Helping

I utilize feminist therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, narrative therapy, EMDR, Inference-based therapy for OCD, and relational therapy. Mindfulness is the transformative power of non-judgemental awareness. I believe that transformation occurs through being present with ourselves. Narrative therapy involves exploring the impacts of the stories we tell ourselves about ourselves, the world, and other people. I have additional training in working with folks dealing with eating disorders and disordered eating through The Center for Body Trust.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Through mindfulness, self-compassion, mind-body connection, and exploring the stories we tell ourselves about ourselves, the world, and other people, we can strengthen our connection our inner wisdom and sense of self. I view therapy as a collaborative process in which we both bring our own experiences and skills. I believe that we are all the experts of our own experiences. I view myself as a facilitator of slowing down, self-compassion, connecting with the ways in which feelings exist in our body, and exploring the ways in which we respond to our feelings and thoughts.

Specialties

  • EMDR External link

I am trained to offer EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy. EMDR therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people heal from trauma and other distressing life experiences, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders.

In our work together, we can explore the ways in which trauma has impacted your nervous system and your perceptions of yourself, others, and the world. I strongly believe in the healing power of EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) therapy and frequently integrate it into the trauma w
