My Ideal Client

Do you find that you're getting stuck in your head with spinning thoughts and uncomfortable anxiety? There's a lot of time to think right now while mainly at home during the pandemic. If most of your thoughts are negative, anxious or depressed, you're not feeling like your best self. If you know what you want to work on in therapy and have an idea about why you will benefit, then you're in the right place. My clients love flowers and want to go beyond traditional talk therapy to feel better.

How I Can Help You

I’ve been a full time therapist since I got my Master’s degree from Lewis & Clark in 2015. I am a Licensed Counselor and certified addictions counselor in Oregon and Washington. I’ve noticed how beneficial talk therapy is and that sometimes, it’s missing a creative and expressive element. I’ve always loved flowers and decided to incorporate them into my therapy practice! I created Floral Healing Therapy and it is my true calling in life. As someone who is attuned to other people’s energy, I will help you reduce negative self talk and help you develop strategies to manage your emotions.

My Approach to Helping

1. The session starts with a short grounding meditation to help you slow down and be in the present moment. 2. We then check in about what you’d like to focus on in the session (anxiety, fear, boundaries, recent events, family troubles, life goals, etc). 3. You’ll arrange the flowers (no experience necessary, I can provide tips) while we’re doing counseling. 4. We finish the session with a Floral Healing Meditation where you set an intention, hope or mantra for what you want your flowers to represent. 5. You then display the flowers somewhere in your home as a reminder of what you’re working on in therapy.

Techniques I Use

  • Holistic External link

FHT is a mind-body-spirit approach to help you be your best self from all angles.

  • Mindfulness-based External link

If you want to live more in the moment, mindfulness can help you tune into your body and emotional experience to find relief.

  • Experiential External link

You'll benefit from experiential therapy if you like to be in touch with your body or you find stress relief through movement. Emotions and mental states often manifest physically. FHT is experiential in nature, allowing you to move your body while you engage your senses and creativity.

Issues I Treat

  • Self-Esteem External link

If you're struggling with self worth, not feeling good enough, or negative self-talk, there are strategies and habits that Heather can help you build to feel better. Counseling will help you recognize your strengths and feel worthy, even if you don't think you have any or aren't used to this. Once you feel better about yourself, a lot can change.

  • Anxiety External link

You might be finding yourself feeling nervous and worrying more often than not. Anxiety can affect your thinking, your habits, your posture and your physical being. There is relief from anxiety and therapy with Heather can help. What would you rather be spending your energy on?

  • Depression External link

If you're feeling down, drained and like nothing is interesting or joyful anymore, it's a good time to start therapy with Heather. Whether you're frequently crying because you feel so overwhelmed and sad, or you're not crying because you feel numb, there are ways to feel better. Reach out for support so you don't isolate any further than your depression wants you to.
