I work with individuals who may feel stuck in their experiences of anxiety, depression, chronic pain, stress, or trauma to again connect with their values and engage in what they find meaningful. There is hope! Together we can find a way to move you forward and live the life you want.
Specialties
Have you tried to get rid of your pain, whether it be physical or emotional? Are you still stuck with this pain despite many attempts to escape it? If so, ACT may be just what you need. ACT is not about getting rid of our thoughts, feelings, or sensations, but instead relating to them in a way that no longer precludes us from living a life consistent with our values.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a treatment designed to increase our awareness of how our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors interact. CBT is skills based, providing you with tools to shift your thinking and your actions to improve the quality of your life and help you feel better.
Specialties
Chronic pain often impacts every area of a person's life and results in loss. I help my clients to reengage in life and find meaning and value again. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, evidence based treatments proven to improve quality of life for those suffering from chronic pain.
Have you tried counting to 10? Are you interested in trying something else? I help individuals struggling with anger or resentment learn to cultivate compassion not only for others but also themselves. Building compassion can shift a person's experience of how they relate with themselves and others, improving relationships.
Trauma can result in a whole host of emotions, leaving a person feeling overwhelmed and alone in their experience. I am a trauma specialist trained in treatments shown to aid in recovery from trauma. I offer stabilization treatments to help you build skills to manage the effects of trauma in day-to-day and trauma processing therapies to help you move forward from your trauma and live your life.
Depression can be hard to wade through alone. It can lead to self-criticism, doubt, and isolation. If you're feeling lost as to where to start, I can help you take meaningful steps to start engaging in the life you want. I use evidence based treatments for depression, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
