My approach to counseling is direct and compassionate. My goal for every client is to help guide them on their journey to building the life they want to live and help them live that life happily and effectively.

I have had my Masters degree in Professional Counseling for 12 years. I have been intensively trained by Behavioral Tech, LLC in DBT and by the Beck Institute in CBT. I have worked in many settings including jails, community mental health, substance abuse clinics, hospitals, and in private practice. I have successfully treated many issues including depression, anxiety, borderline personality disorder, PTSD, grief, substance abuse, relationship issues, stress, adjustment problems, and trauma. I specialize in mindfulness based treatment for depression and anxiety, DBT for treatment of borderline personality disorder, and Prolonged Exposure therapy for PTSD.

Techniques I Use

  • Mindfulness-based External link

In addition to the trainings I have received through BTech and other DBT conferences on mindfulness, I have spent many, many hours in self study on the subject. I find that mindfulness is really at the core of all helping modalities and I incorporate it in all therapy that I do.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) External link

I have been intensively trained by DBT founder Marsha Linehan's company BTech in DBT. I have been practicing DBT for almost 10 years with great results. I have continued my education by attending multiple DBT workshops and trainings, including one by Marsha Linehan herself!

  • Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) External link

I was trained by the Beck Institute (founder Aaron Beck developed CBT) in CBT and use it, along with mindfulness, to treat many issues including depression and anxiety.

Issues I Treat

  • Personality Disorders External link

I have been intensively trained by BTech (the company owned by DBT founder Marsha Linehan) in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). This treatment was specifically designed to help those struggling with Borderline Personality Disorder. It is one of my favorite things to practice due to the enormous success my clients have had with it.

  • Self-Harming External link

As a DBT therapist, I have had over 8 years of treating those with self harming behaviors. I have had great success helping many significantly reduce or eliminate these behaviors.

  • PTSD External link

I have been using Prolonged Exposure Therapy to treat PTSD with great success for over 5 years.

  • Anxiety External link

With over 10 years of treating anxiety, I have had success helping people reach recovery from mild generalized anxiety to extreme debilitating anxiety.

  • Depression External link

I have over 10 years working with people with major depression with very good success helping them reach recovery using mindfulness based treatment.
