My Ideal Client

We all have behavioral patterns. It’s the patterns that are deep within our subconscious that bring patterns that are not supportive in the present moment. Our imprints from our earliest years, the womb, have shaped our values and beliefs about self and how we form relationships. Have you tried repeatedly to change patterns that are painful, destructive, and isolated with very little change? What drives these patterns are imprints from our preverbal time held within our subconscious.

What I Specialize In

Somatic PPN Therapy is a complete somatic psychotherapeutic modality for exploring experiences from the womb, birth, and early attachment. It welcomes the body as a vital source of information that can guide resourcing and processing challenges and traumatic and developmental experiences. Somatic PPN Therapy is a holistic approach attuned to soul-body-mind-earth connections. My work enables clients to discover and change habitual physical and psychological patterns that impede optimal functioning and well-being. It assists in working with dysregulated activation and other effects of trauma and the limiting belief systems of developmental issues. I understand that the body carries the voice of trauma and attachment dynamics. Dysregulated movement habits, posture, and nervous system regulation can keep clients stuck in the past, affecting relationships. My work brings awareness to the body with attention to the earliest experience.

Why I Became a Therapist

It was the birth of my daughter 25yrs ago that awakened the understanding that we have had experiences well before we spoke. My daughter's birth, one that was traumatic, led to the guiding question; how was this for her? It was this question that facilitated a beautiful healing journey for my children and me, allowing me to hold space for clients. My pathway to becoming a Somatic Therapist specializing in pre & perinatal birth psychology has allowed me to learn from the founding therapist in this line of work, John Chitty & Ray Castenllino, who has since passed the physical realm but are paramount in this works, along with many others. I am an experiential learner and held space in the births realm as a midwife assistant & doula for over 10yrs to truly understand the impact of prenatal life, birth experiences, and early attachment in forming relationships. The beautiful gift of who we are as humans is our blueprint, and through touching on the imprint, healing begins.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Parenting External link

A child’s ability to move during each development stage lays the foundation for physical, emotional, and cognitive health. Understanding this developmental approach to your child can assist with bonding, Behavioral issues, ADD/ADHD, communication, bedwetting, handwriting, paying attention, postural conversation, and emotional regulation.

  • Pregnancy (Prenatal Mental Health) External link

Our culture around birth is fear, anxiety, and overwhelm when the need is trust, support, and empowerment. I support pregnancy in assisting with processing fears and anxieties through an experiential self-discovery approach that empowers the birth journey for the child and parent(s).

  • Postpartum External link

Bonding, Attachment & Breastfeeding Connection Session-The safe space that is held for mothers, babies, & partners to allow integration of the birth story brings about a harmonic resonance for parenting. Birth can have unforeseen turns that may include medical interventions, feeling of disempowerment, and mother/baby separation. Even without medical intervention, the birth journey can dysregulate the breastfeeding transition.
