My Ideal Client

I work with adults, older teens, and couples. I work with anyone needing some extra support, struggling with the pressures of work, relationships, and family, making a transition, or just trying to cope. I welcome people who identify with the queer community, are gender diverse, or are in the process of gender transition. I have expertise in working with healthcare professionals; physicians, RNs, NPs, PAs, and dentists.

What I Specialize In

At this time in the world so much is being asked of us and it is hard to stay centered. I recognize the tremendous pressures that we face day to day and I strive to support my clients in managing the waves of life. I work with people who are looking to better understand themselves and learn to better manage their worries, fears, and overwhelm. I work with people who are struggling with anxiety, depression, loss, relationships, trauma, substance use, finding their voice, parenting, and life transitions. I work with healthcare professionals, mental health professionals and first responders.

My Values as a Therapist

In my career out of the therapy room I have focused on dismantling stigma. Stigma of mental health, substance use, suicide, and transgender care. I have started mental health and substance use programs in primary care to expand access to these services. Much of our the pain, distress, and suffering that we experience is part of being human and is informed by the early experiences we have that are reinforced over time. Therapy is about building trust, creating a space to stay curious and work together to better understand your patterns and yourself.

Issues I Treat

  • Depression External link

So much of our depression can be traced to loss or anger turned inward. I have worked with many people who have struggled with depression, both new and long standing depression. It is a process of understanding the relationships, thinking patterns, and losses that may be impacting your mood.

  • Anxiety External link

Worry, fear, overwhelm can be consuming and can impact our quality of life. I have spent many years working with people on their anxiety, past relational trauma, and shame. I have studied the physiology of stress and us mindfulness, grounding, and self-regulation to ground my work.

  • Loss or Grief External link

Loss is part of life. Much of our depression stems from loss. Loss can shake our identity in this world. I have worked with many people on loss and grief and see this as an area of expertise.

  • Compassion Fatigue External link

I have spent much of my career working in medical settings. These experiences have helped me understand medical training and culture. I understand the unique pressures that are on our healthcare professionals today. I have expertise working with healthcare providers and people in helping professions.
