My Ideal Client

I have found that the "best fit" client for me is someone who appreciates humor, values honesty and is motivated to engage in the therapeutic process. I have extensive experience working with people who have difficulty managing overwhelming emotions due to complex PTSD, identify as "Highly Sensitive" and who may struggle with anxiety and/or depression. Of particular interest are women's issues, transition into adulthood, exploration of gender and sexual identity, and family estrangement.

My Background and Approach

I specialize in working from a relational foundation informed by attachment theory while incorporating elements of Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Polyvagal theory and Interpersonal Neurobiology. I believe my clients would describe me as animated, engaged, direct, curious, humorous, and down-to-earth in session. I value collaboration and anti-oppressive practices in my approach to therapy.

My Values as a Therapist

Prior to getting my graduate degree in Social Work, I worked in a variety of social service settings including in Juvenile Justice, a Women’s Shelter, and an Arts focused nonprofit working with youth in foster care and those experiencing houselessness in New York City and in Los Angeles, CA. I then moved to Oregon and completed my MSW degree at Portland State University in 2013 and have since worked in many different levels of care- from inpatient hospitalization, day treatment, to finally, outpatient care.
