I strive to respect the dignity of each person that I work with by creating a safe space characterized by compassion and acceptance, where curiosity and courage can flourish, and one’s inner resources are engaged to overcome obstacles to living a rich and meaningful life.

My Approach

I recognize that meeting with a stranger to discuss deeply personal and painful parts of your life is an unusual task, which requires great courage. Therefore I strive to provide a non-judgmental and compassionate space where you can feel safe to examine those areas of your life where you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or out of control. I take a relational approach that emphasizes collaboration and interpersonal feedback to help initiate movement toward a life that is rich and meaningful. Clients that I work with build and broaden their awareness of their inner world and their reactions to the external world, empowering them to have more mindful and intentional engagement with life. As a result they develop deeper connections with self and others, and are able to move towards the life they want to live. I practice from a theoretical framework that is influenced by Person-Centered Theory, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Internal Family Systems, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

My Background

I earned a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Western Seminary and Bachelor Degrees in Psychology, as well as, Bible and Theology from Multnomah University. I have diverse experience working in helping professions including pastoral care, adolescent residential treatment, foster care, and psychiatric emergency services. I have experience working with adolescents, college age students, and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, transitions, adjustment, relational conflicts and spiritual issues. I have experience working within a brief therapy modality to provide relief of acute symptoms, as well as, walking the journey of deeper processing and unburdening work. As a LPC Registered Intern I am supervised by Tracy Sandor MA, MFT, LPC, license #C4817
