Typically, my clients are adults seeking help for different kinds of human challenges, including — feeling lost or overwhelmed amidst major life transitions or alone in painful grief experiences, struggling to manage distressing thoughts or moods, or repeatedly finding themselves stuck in old behavioral patterns. Whatever your reasons for seeking therapy, know that you have the capacity to heal, even if you don't yet believe it is possible.

My Background

I grew up in a bicultural family of Basque descent, earned a B.A. in English and a Masters in Social Work, and have previous professional experience as a classroom teacher and university study abroad program administrator. Over the past two decades, I have worked as a mental health therapist on community mental health, primary care, and Intensive Outpatient Program teams, and I manage my own private practice. I have training and experience in a range of therapy models, including IFS (Level-1), ACT, DBT, MBSR and self-compassion practices, and I tailor my approach to each person's particular needs. Working with me is collaborative, and we balance keeping an eye on your goals while also flexing in responsive to what might need attention from session to session. I regularly invite client feedback so that we can track progress, make adjustments as-needed, and appreciate what has been most meaningful about the process.
