My Ideal Client

I believe that many of what have traditionally been labeled "symptoms" or "disorders" are actually strategies for coping with adversity. I see my clients as resilient, resourceful, and creative human beings, and I am deeply committed to creating an environment in which they feel safe, seen, understood, and valued. People from diverse backgrounds share that they appreciate the warmth, authenticity, and skill that I bring to our work together.

My Background

I grew up in a bicultural family of Basque descent, earned a B.A. in English and a Masters in Social Work, and have previous professional experience as a classroom teacher and university study abroad program administrator. Over the past two decades, I have worked as a mental health therapist on community mental health, primary care, and Intensive Outpatient Program teams, and I manage my own private practice. Over the course of my career, I have been a passionate advocate for mental health parity within large healthcare organizations. All trauma survivors in need of mental health services deserve access to evidence-based trauma-focused therapies. Like-minded colleagues and I developed a comprehensive template for realizing this vision - the Complex Trauma Care Pathway (CTCP). Why I am a Good Fit for You

Typically, my clients are adults seeking help for different kinds of human challenges, including — feeling lost or overwhelmed amidst major life transitions or alone in painful grief experiences, struggling to manage distressing thoughts or moods, or repeatedly finding themselves stuck in old behavioral patterns. Drawing from training and experience in a range of therapeutic approaches (IFS - Level 1, ACT, DBT, MBSR), I collaborate with clients to tailor therapy to their particular needs, preferences and goals. Together, we work towards actualizing what they most desire for their relationship with themselves and others and for their future. To explore whether my practice might be a good fit for you, you can email or call to schedule a free fifteen minute introduction by phone. I look forward to talking with you.
