My Ideal Client

I primarily work with the Latinx identified folks, providing individual counseling. I recognize that the barriers that exist in finding a provider that understands BIPOC culture/experience. I specialize in helping individuals recover from sexual trauma and abusive relationships.

My Background and Approach

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 10 years of experience working in the mental health/social work field with a focus on social justice, and anti oppressive frameworks. As a Mexican American, heterosexual, bilingual, and first-generation individual, my identity deeply informs my work as a therapist. My experiences in the social work field highlighted the urgent need for culturally responsive mental health services. This realization inspired me to return to school, and I earned my master's degree in 2018. Since then, I have had the privilege of working primarily with the Latinx community, providing services in Spanish. My focus is on supporting individuals who have experienced sexual assault and domestic violence, recognizing the unique cultural and societal factors that influence their healing process. I am committed to creating a safe, empathetic space where clients can explore their experiences and find pathways to resilience and recovery.

Our Values as Mental Health Practitioners

My own background as part of an immigrant family gives me a unique perspective on the complexities and challenges that come with navigating a new culture while honoring one’s roots. I understand the pressures of balancing family expectations, cultural identity, and personal aspirations. This empathy drives my work, allowing me to create a safe space where individuals can explore their feelings and experiences without judgment. In addition to my clinical training in social work, I continuously seek out professional development opportunities to enhance my skills and stay attuned to the evolving needs of my community. I am passionate about fostering empowerment, encouraging clients to embrace their identities and navigate their paths with confidence.
