My Ideal Client

Just as no two people are affected the exact same way by depression and anxiety, there is no “one size fits all” treatment. What works for one person might not work for another. My passion in counseling is aimed at clinical mental health. Suffering with anxiety, depression, trauma and ptsd can range in severity and symptoms, requiring different interventions. I am eclectic in my approach so that I can meet the client where they need guidance the most.

My Approach to Helping

Cognitive behavioral therapy is the foundation of my approach, focusing on the idea that environment determines behavior. How a person responds to a given situation is the result of past learning, and usually behavior that has been reinforced. Coping skills I utilize are distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Why I Became a Therapist

I became a therapist because through my own journey of healing I realized the possibilities of growth. I have empathy and compassion for the many different struggles we all face. Knowing that it is possible to find a life worth living even when things feel like they are going sideways encouraged me to support individuals in their journey with healing. I believe some of the best therapists are the ones that have done the work themselves and continuing to gain a greater understanding of growth on a daily basis.
