My Ideal Client

I work with individuals and couples, and I especially enjoy working with BIPOC and LGBTQ+ clients, first responders, immigrants and first-generation individuals, and those navigating identity exploration, relationship challenges, trauma, and life transitions. I strive to create a collaborative, affirming space where clients can reconnect with their strengths and foster deeper self-understanding to cultivate healing and growth.

My Approach to Helping

My approach is collaborative and person-centered—I see you as the expert of your own life. I draw from a Relational, Emotion-Focused, Cognitive and Psychodynamic approaches, bringing empathy, curiosity, and transparency to each session. Together, we’ll explore your experiences, uncover patterns, and build awareness of what’s been holding you back. I don’t offer quick fixes—but I believe you already hold the tools for healing, and I’m here to help you access and use them. I also offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to support healing and reduce distress. My goal is to help clients gain insight, find relief, and create lasting change.

More About the People I Treat

As a Mexican and queer bilingual therapist, I bring my cultural identity into the therapy room, creating a space rooted in empathy, authenticity, and respect. I’m passionate about supporting Spanish-speaking individuals who often face barriers to accessing care in their preferred language. My approach is grounded in cultural humility and an understanding of how identity, community, and lived experience shape our healing. Trauma can turn life upside down. Maybe you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or just exhausted. Whatever you're carrying, it’s valid, and it matters. Here’s the truth: healing doesn’t mean “getting over it.” It means making space for what you've been through, learning to feel safe again, and reconnecting with yourself. You don’t have to do that alone. Nothing is too big or too messy here. This is your space to show up exactly as you are. Let’s meet there.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Relational  External link

My approach to therapy is relational at its core. I believe that healing happens through connection, and that the therapeutic relationship itself can be a powerful space for growth, insight, and change. I work to create a warm, collaborative, and authentic environment where clients feel seen, heard, and respected. By exploring patterns in relationships—both past and present—we can better understand emotional struggles, unmet needs, and how relational dynamics impact one's sense of self.

  • Emotionally Focused External link

I help clients access, explore, and understand their emotions deeply, believing that true healing begins when feelings are fully experienced and processed. By creating a compassionate and supportive environment, I assist clients in identifying and transforming painful emotions like sadness, anger, or shame into sources of insight and resilience. Together, we work to strengthen emotional awareness and regulation, and fostering self-compassion.

  • EMDR External link

I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, an evidence-based, integrative approach designed to help individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Anxiety External link

I help individuals understand and manage the underlying causes of their anxiety. My approach is compassionate and collaborative, focusing on building practical tools to reduce excessive worry, manage physical symptoms, and regain control in daily life. I work with clients experiencing generalized anxiety, panic attacks, and stress-related issues, tailoring each treatment plan to meet their unique needs and goals. My goal is to create a supportive space where healing and growth can take place.

  • Depression External link

I help clients explore the emotional, relational, and behavioral factors contributing to their depression—whether it’s persistent sadness, loss of motivation, feelings of worthlessness, or difficulty functioning day to day. My work focuses on building insight, strengthening coping strategies, and helping clients reconnect with a sense of purpose and fulfillment.

  • PTSD External link

I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), for treating PTSD and complex trauma. EMDR helps individuals reprocess traumatic memories in a way that reduces their emotional charge and fosters long-term healing. It is particularly effective for clients who feel "stuck" or overwhelmed by past experiences. In addition my trauma education includes Somatic approaches to trauma therapy, integrating body awareness and Trauma-informed cognitive behavioral techniques.
