My Approach

With care, intention, and presence, I support you to identify and explore patterns of emotions, thoughts, and behaviors limiting your relationships, work and inner sense of wellbeing. We work collaboratively, to uncover the developmental roots of unprocessed wounds, traumatic experience, overpowering inner critic, and insecure attachments. I draw on psychodynamic theories of attachment, interpersonal process, Enneagram personality structures, combined with mindfulness-based and trauma informed somatic awareness. I use mindfulness/body-centered practices, inner resource development, parts-work, and expressive arts in sessions. Outside sessions, I encourage journaling or other creative processes, mindfulness practice, trigger tracking, self-compassion, self-care, and play. Your therapy goals guide our work, with the positive side-effects of coming home to yourself, connecting more deeply with others, and engaging more meaningfully in the world.

My Background

I grew up east of Los Angeles and attended Pitzer College for a year before heading north. I completed my degree in Wildlife Biology and Creative Writing from University of California, Davis. I then shifted my interests to natural health and holistic healing and got licensed as a massage therapist. Years later I pursued a dream of being a writer and completed a master’s degree in English from Portland State University. Finally, I put it all together in a natural fit completing a second master’s degree in Professional Mental Health Counseling from Lewis & Clark College. I am certified as an Enneagram teacher through the Narrative Tradition with Helen Palmer and David Daniels. My continuing education training includes externship training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples, EMDR intensive, Motivational Interviewing, drug and alcohol counseling, trauma informed care, and Biblio-Poetry Therapy.
