My Ideal Client

Client's often come to me feeling stuck or unsure on how to move forward in their lives. They often feel trapped in old patterns, or by painful events from the past that continue to shape how they see themselves and the world. Many describe a sense of disconnection, frequent anxiety and difficulty trusting themselves and others. Whether you're navigating the impact of trauma, struggling with persistent anxiety, or just feel lost, therapy can be a powerful step towards healing and growth.

My Approach to Helping

I place a high value on the therapeutic alliance. Initial sessions are spent building trust, hearing your story, exploring current behaviors/emotions and exploring your strengths. As we continue our work together, we'll delve deeper into the impact of trauma and life experiences on your sense of self, relationships, and behavior. I am trained in EMDR through an EMDRIA approved program, and utilize this along with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and other evidence based practices in session.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I wanted to be a therapist since I was 12 years old, but it was not a straight and easy path to get here. I doubted myself, let anxiety get in the way, and eventually found myself living a life that didn't feel like my own. Through my personal work in therapy, I was able to explore anxiety from a place of curiosity, reconnect with myself, and work with the inner critic who kept me feeling stuck. Now I feel so honored to support others on their journey towards acceptance, self-compassion and healing. I am dedicated to creating a safe, supportive and inclusive space for all clients. I utilize a social justice oriented lens and recognize the impact of systemic issues, oppression and power structures on mental health. I continue to do my own work around these issues through continued education, informal learning and consultation.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • EMDR External link

I am trained in EMDR through an EMDRIA approved program, and have been utilizing this as an intervention with clients since April 2024.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • PTSD External link

I am trained in EMDR and am currently engaged in additional training on attachment trauma, childhood abuse, and complex PTSD. I utilize IFS/parts work, self compassion skill building, psychoeducation and coping skill development (ACT, DBT) as part of trauma treatment. I've worked with numerous clients who have experienced single event PTSD, CPTSD, complex trauma and childhood abuse.

  • Anxiety External link

I've helped numerous clients work through anxiety issues utilizing ACT, IFS and a sprinkle of CBT techniques. We'll slow things down, get to know the anxiety and figure out how we can work with it versus against it.
