My Ideal Client

I enjoy providing counseling for couples hoping to enhance their communication, couples making a life transition, and couples hoping to obtain balance, peace and happiness in their relationship. I look forward to offering strength and hope on the path to your wisdom within.

My Approach to Helping

My approach to counseling is dynamic and rooted in a variety of methods and therapeutic practices, including interpersonal neurobiology, narrative therapy, attachment theory, cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness. Healing, growth and change often take time and courage. The number of sessions we have together will depend on your needs. Whether we meet for a few weeks, months or at different points throughout the year(s), counseling can help you gain insight into the origin of your thoughts and emotions, help you strengthen healthy patterns of thinking and communicating, and lead you to a place within yourself and your relationship where you feel content and at peace. Therapy may also lead to feelings of pain and vulnerability, and at these times you might feel hesitant to continue. I will honor your feelings while also encouraging you to do your best to endure these moments. It is here that profound and lasting transformation often begin.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My social work education and training began over ten years ago at the University of Portland. While attaining a master's degree at Portland State University's Graduate School of Social Work, I provided therapy for individuals, couples and parents at the Center for Women's Health at Oregon Health & Sciences University. During my six years as a counselor at a Portland agency, I offered counseling to couples, adults and families and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. In my private practice, I am honored to support couples as they see their life and relationships from new perspectives, enhance their communication, and increase their self-awareness and self-compassion. I am committed to ongoing education, and my approach and treatment plans are guided by evidence-based practices that are aligned with the National Association of Social Worker's Code of Ethics. Thank you for the opportunity to travel alongside you.
