My Approach to Helping

I believe all people grow and heal in relationships where they are truly understood, valued, and accepted. Understanding and honoring who you are, providing true safety, trust, and authenticity is at the heart of how I work with clients. I currently provide telehealth (phone and video conference) counseling services to parents/caregivers of infants, toddlers, preschool, and school-aged children and teens and to individual adults who experience anxiety and/or have a history of trauma. I also provide clinical supervision for mental health professionals seeking their LPC/LMFT in Oregon and or Washington, Play Therapy Credentials (RPT, CCPT, and CPRT), and supervision of supervision. I have extensive training and experience in Child-Centered Play Therapy, Person-centered therapy, Child-Parent Relationship Therapy, Sandtray Therapy, Gender-Affirming therapy, and Trauma.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oregon (LPC #C3880), a Board-Certified Counselor (NCC), a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor (RPT-S), and a Child-Centered Play Therapy & Child-Parent Relationship Therapy Trainer and Supervisor (CCPT-T/S;CPRT-T/S). I am also certified in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C). I completed my PhD in counseling at the University of North Texas in 2013 and have provided counseling and consultation for children, adolescents, adults, and families in clinic, school, and private practice settings since 2009. I also teach, train, and supervise counselors and play therapists, and write and conduct research on play therapy and parenting.
