My Approach to Helping

I believe all people grow and heal in the context of relationships where they are truly understood, valued, and accepted. My goal is to develop this kind of relationship with each of my clients and to help you create these kinds of relationships in your families and communities. I currently provide telehealth (phone and video conference) counseling services to parents/caregivers of infants, toddlers, preschool, and school-aged children and to individual adults who experience anxiety and/or have a history of trauma. I also provide clinical supervision for mental health professionals seeking their LPC/LMFT in Oregon and Play Therapy Credentials (RPT, CCPT, and CPRT). I have extensive training and experience in Child-Centered Play Therapy, Person-centered therapy, Child-Parent Relationship Therapy, Expressive Art Therapy, Sandtray Therapy, Interpersonal Neurobiology, and Trauma.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oregon (LPC #C3880), a Board-Certified Counselor (NCC), a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor (RPT-S), and a Child-Centered Play Therapy & Child-Parent Relationship Therapy Trainer and Supervisor (CCPT-T;CPRT-T). I completed my PhD in counseling at the University of North Texas in 2013 and have provided counseling and consultation for children, adolescents, adults, and families in clinic, school, and private practice settings since 2009. Prior to earning my PhD, I completed my master's in counseling (MEd) from the University of North Texas in 2010 and a masters in theological studies (MTS) from Southern Methodist University in 2007. I also practiced as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New Mexico and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas prior to moving to Oregon. I also teach, train, and supervise counselors and play therapists, and write and conduct research on play therapy and parenting.
