My Ideal Client

In this world full of stressors, it is common to feel emotionally and mentally maxed out, disconnected or disheartened. Whether you’re feeling stressed, overwhelmed, brokenhearted, or simply looking for a space to make sense of your thoughts and feelings, I’m here to support you. I’ll challenge you when needed, always with care and respect, and encourage you every step of the way with warmth and humor.

My Approach to Helping

My goal is to create a therapeutic space where you feel safe and comfortable being fully you, and can practice cultivating a relationship with yourself that is compassionate, curious, resourced, and hopeful. From this space, you can access more self-understanding and more clarity around who you wish to be and how you wish to engage with the world. I primarily draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which supports the development of individuals’ psychological flexibility, mindfulness, and value-based living; and psychodynamic therapy, which helps us uncover how past experiences shape our current patterns, desires, and unmet needs. My practice is also informed by somatic and polyvagal theories, which help us to befriend and attune to our bodies and nervous systems.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

- As a social worker, it is important to me to incorporate critical reflection into my sessions when appropriate, because I believe our personal healing and transformation is critical to our collective healing and evolution. - I believe in community care and mutual aid, and the power of relationships to help us heal old hurts and grow into the people we strive to become. Because of this, I am passionate about restorative justice practices that help us to accept accountability, communicate more effectively, and repair harm when it has occurred such that the result is deeper understanding, compassion and respect for one another. - I believe that playing, being in nature, snuggling animals, preparing/sharing meals with friends (and more) are all equally valid and powerful tools in healing; talk therapy is important, but it is one tool of many.
