My Ideal Client

I enjoy working with a wide variety of people and therapeutic issues, but below are some of my main focuses: LGBTQIA2S+ Neurodivergence Anxiety PMDD/PME Grief & Loss Mood concerns (including bipolar and depression) Polyamorous dynamics Healing from difficult childhoods. Helping others be kinder to themselves and develop a better relationship to their emotions. Support navigating relational dynamics and communication difficulties. Unpacking oppression and privilege.

My Approach to Helping

I truly enjoy supporting others in creating a new relationship with their emotions, body, and self. I look at the emotional experience and what information is often missed when emotions and the body is not given attention. Sometimes this emotion focused work looks like engaging in mindfulness  with a compassionate and non-judgmental approach, even when you’re drowning in critical thoughts. Sometimes we engage in parts work based in Internal Family Systems (IFS) to understand more about where this feeling is coming from, what it’s trying to do for you, and how to work with it. I absolutely incorporate other approaches as it is helpful to the client. Examples include mindfulness, attachment theory, DBT/CBT/ACT, somatic, psychodynamic and psychoeducation interspersed. For in depth trauma work, I utilize Mentalization-Based Narrative Exposure Therapy (MBNET), which is a exposure modality to address complex interpersonal trauma (https://www.thekilnschool.com/podcast/episode-7).

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Our identities greatly inform our lives, and it's important I share some of mine with you. I am a white, agender, queer, fat, mostly able bodied human. A combination of lived experience and my identities lead me to this field where I get the honor to hear people's stories and help them on their journeys. Because of this, I spend much of my time incorporating anti-racist and disability justice tenets into my life, both personally and professionally. Additionally, I am sex, kink, body, and fat positive, neurodivergent affirming, and supportive of polyamorous/non-monogamous relationships.
