My Approach

My clients often are experiencing mental health diagnoses (depression, anxiety, mood) with the compounding impacts of trauma, pain, medical, and/or addiction problems. My clients include the parents, partners and care providers of folks/kids with medical and mental health challenges. I am committed to helping people access flexible, well-qualified care at the right level of frequency. My style is direct, warm and guided by creating relational safety and hope. I offer practical behavioral health strategies, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), EMDR, and strengths-based narrative work that promotes resilience and personal accountability. I support both abstinence-based and harm reduction recovery practices.

My Background

I am highly attuned to managing; traumatic stress caused by adverse childhood experiences; urgent care for acute crisis; complex differential diagnosis; promoting family/support structures; growing your access to peer communities; and collaboration with primary and pain management providers. I have a Master's in Addiction Studies from the Professional Mental Health Counseling program at Lewis & Clark College Graduate School. Previous to private practice, I provided clinical care as a counselor in a vibrant outpatient community mental health clinic with hundreds of vulnerable, traumatized, and resilient clients. My experience includes working on integrated care teams to address medical, addiction, legal, family and complex social problems. I also work on a national behavioral health phone line for universities, EAPs and county/community mental health agencies.
