Practicing Since: 2021
My specialties include grief and loss work, helping those coping with serious health conditions, and supporting caregivers. My experience includes extensive training in the emotional challenges that come up around cancer. Issues I can help you navigate include but are not limited to: processing the loss of a loved one, adjustment to a new diagnosis, fear of cancer recurrence or progression, anxiety about medical procedures, contemplating existential concerns, and caregiver burnout.
I've been trained in utilizing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in the context of a cancer diagnosis.
I've received specialized training in the use of CBT for chronic pain, anxiety, and insomnia.
I’ve been a Buddhist practicioner for the past 7 years, and like to integrate meditation and Eastern philosophy into my therapeutic approach when appropriate.
I've worked with individuals at all different stages of a cancer diagnosis, including pre-diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, recurrence, and end-of-life. My experience includes an internship at the Simms/Mann UCLA Center for Integrative Oncology and work experience at City of Hope National Medical Center, where I supported individuals with leukemia and lymphoma undergoing stem-cell transplants.
During graduate school I worked with older adults coping with chronic illnesses such as COPD and diabetes. I have also helped clients with cancer use mindfulness as a way of working with chronic pain.
