My Ideal Client

My clients often navigate challenges like life transitions, college or career changes, grief and loss, OCD, ADHD, depression, anxiety, and relationships. Many carry deeply rooted shame or guilt, which can show up as rumination, overwhelm, masking, comparison, and self-doubt. In our work together, my goal is to partner with you using psychoanalytic insight and experiential awareness to understand and shift these patterns so you can move toward a more grounded and sustainable sense of well-being.

My Background and Approach

In our sessions, I may utilize an eclectic blend of EMDR, CBT, somatic, ERP and IFS approaches, depending on what is coming up. I work relationally and prioritize building a strong, trusting connection as the foundation for meaningful progress. Treatment is tailored to you, guided by both your preferences and feedback so that each step feels aligned with your pace and readiness. My experience spans supporting individuals with long-term, serious mental illness as well as providing solution-focused, brief therapy for higher-functioning clients. I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide range of individuals over the last 15 years and have navigated darker waters in my own life. Both of which have given me flexibility and genuine understanding as a counselor. I am deeply grateful to do this work and to be a part of your healing.

My Values as a Therapist

We live in a world where it can feel unsafe to fully express your feelings or your authentic self. Fears around vulnerability, perfectionism, lack of acceptance, and limited self-compassion often sit at the core of emotional distress. I believe authenticity is the foundation of self-actualization and emotional freedom. Therapy can offer the privacy and space to rebuild a sense of self, safety and belonging.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • ADHD External link

With specialized training and personal experience with neurodivergence, I have an understanding of how difficult it can be to function with expectations of a neurotypical society. I operate from a person-centered lens when treating ADHD, recognizing that symptoms are variant and we may need creative solutions.

  • Anxiety External link

Anxiety is unfortunately a common ailment affecting today’s environment. While there are some aspects out of our control, there is always the possibility of what can be managed. I utilize cognitive restructuring to help with overcoming rumination, hypervigilance, fear and misconceptions, in order to move forward mindfully and with chosen purpose.

  • PTSD External link

Overcoming trauma requires consistency, support and understanding by the therapist. It's crucial to meet clients where they are emotionally to heal from traumatic experiences. I find that relationship and rapport building to be an important component of this work. I am diligent to provide a safe environment where repair and healing can occur.

  • OCD External link

OCD can be a pervasive and long battle. I work with clients to gain awareness of their inner world then develop tools to push back against the bully in their mind. Exposure Response Prevention and self-compassion are an important part of this work.

  • Loss or Grief External link

Together I work with clients to process the immense pain that comes from experiencing loss; whether friendship, relationship, death, sudden or anticipated. Sessions are spent reflecting on emotions, the experience itself and gaining an understanding of how to move forward.
