My Ideal Client

Most of the clients I see are having struggles with college/career development, grief and loss, PTSD, ADHD, depression, anxiety, and relationship conflicts. Though these issues can be challenging, they are not insurmountable. Individuals I work with often have deeply rooted patterns of shame and guilt caused by these issues and seek to uncover barriers to healing. I partner alongside clients so they feel validated to overcome and emerge with self-confidence.

My Background and Approach

Through years of client work, I've come to understand that the inherent needs of people are very similar. Often clients are searching for a greater understanding of themselves, an understanding of their place or purpose in the world, as well as acceptance of those around them. My approach is to meet each of my clients where they are physically and emotionally to establish an environment where self-awareness and growth can occur. Whether you are seeking long-term therapy or brief solutions-focused sessions, I provide a safe space for us work through any challenges you are facing.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

We reside in a world where there is not always room for individuals to express their true, authentic selves. This is the case whether at work, in family settings or with friends. It may seem that others around us have perfect lives, when in reality there is a depth to those individuals that we may not see. I believe the lack of individual expression, acceptance from others and self-compassion is at the core of most mental turmoil. My goal is to help clients realize that they have just as much inherent value as their peers, family members, or partners and perceptions are not always as they seem.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • ADHD External link

With specialized training in ADHD and techniques you will begin to notice differences immediately in functioning. I operate from a person-centered lens when treating ADHD, recognizing that each client is different and may need more creative solutions.

  • Anxiety External link

Many of my clients struggle with anxiety on a day-to-day basis. I utilize cognitive reframing and restructuring to help with overcoming rumination, hypervigilance and misperceptions in order to move forward in life mindfully.

  • Depression External link

Overcoming depression requires consistent support and understanding. It's important to meet clients where they are at and explore emotions as well as history behind depressive thoughts.

  • Self-Esteem External link

Self-esteem is fragile and it can be relatively easy to fall into a state of low self-worth. I work with clients to understand barriers and explore strengths so they begin to feel worthy in their everyday lives. Psychoanalysis and self compassion are an important part of this work.

  • Loss or Grief External link

Together I have worked with clients to process the immense pain that comes from experiencing loss. Sessions are spent reflecting on emotions, the experience itself and gaining an understanding of how to move forward.
