My Ideal Client

I believe everyone has innate brilliance and, with support, can address whatever barrier is getting in the way of the life they want to lead. I work with a diverse population and welcome everyone.

My Approach to Helping

I use Teletherapy exclusively, via telephone. I am a cheerleader for all my clients! I believe recovery from physical and mental health challenges is absolutely obtainable, and one of my great joys in life is the facilitation of this process. I treat clients as "people first," rather than labels, cases, or subjects. I successfully use humanistic and feminist solutions focused therapy with individuals, working in partnership to address whatever the issue was at hand.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years experience in the mental health field working with children, adolescents, adults and their families. I earned my undergraduate Bachelors in Education Family and Community Services degree from the University of Oregon, and my graduate Masters in Social Work degree from Portland State University. I love to learn and have received extensive training in employment assistance training, autism spectrum, and psychosis. My clinical interests and practice experience include employment and education issues, psychosis, severe and persistent mental health challenges, and life transitions. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to partner with people as they make changes in their lives. My therapy style is supportive and interactive using a cognitive behavioral framework focusing on how thoughts impact both our emotions and behaviors. I also offer supervision for clinical licensure in the state of Oregon.

Issues I Treat

  • Schizophrenia External link

  • Autism External link

I founded a nonprofit in Eugene, OR, NextStep Recycling, that focuses on developing individual social and job skills for those who have had no job experience, are underemployed or unemployed. I believe we all hold brilliance and with support, can discover and achieve our education and vocational goals. I have applied my own life experiences to consulting/therapy with individuals who are on the autism spectrum.
