My Approach to Helping

I am committed to following the guidelines to protect our health during the COVID-19 pandemic. I am able to do telehealth sessions. I use a variety of techniques depending on your needs. Feeling safe and secure are the most important indicators of positive therapy outcomes. Starting with that as our foundation, therapeutic techniques such as EMDR and Internal Family Systems, and solution focused therapy will provide added support to the therapeutic process. Many symptoms are caused by unresolved inner conflicts and inner polarizations. Resolving these, you are able to experience your own truth and relate to the external world in the way that is the most powerful for you.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I studied Counseling Psychology at Lewis and Clark College and after that received training in Addictions Treatment, EMDR, trauma, Internal Family Systems. I also taught at Lewis and Clark College and became an LPC supervisor. I was the co-Clinical Director for A Home Within, a volunteer program for counselors to help kids in the foster care system. I have studied yoga and meditation for several decades. I believe we need to move beyond pathologizing ourselves and others. I always hold the space for each client as a complete and whole person, not a diagnosis or a problem to fix.
