My Ideal Client

Are you experiencing broken relationships? Anxiety? Depression? Daily life is becoming too much to navigate? All of these are symptoms of a larger emotional internal experience. I work with your subjective experiences to help you navigate through decisions, relationships, and daily life circumstances. Through our therapeutic relationship you can find how your past experiences and family systems are currently impacting you. Call me to discuss how I may help you.

Techniques I Use

  • Attachment Theory External link

My theoretical focus is through the lens of attachment – that is, how the bonds we create are effective, or ineffective, in our current lives (John Bowlby). In addition to attachment bonds that we experience, I also support my clients collaboratively to better understand life’s stressors and patterns of interaction that may or may not be promoting his or her well-being.

  • Couples Counseling External link

I specialize in Couples Counseling using contextual theory, integrating attachment, EFT, IS, neurobiology, and Behavioral approaches.

  • Emotionally Focused External link

My approach is also connected with Dr. Sue Johnson’s Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Integrated Behavioral Couple therapy (Neil Jacobson and Andrew Christensen). Emotionally Focused Therapy allows the therapeutic relationship to identify vital information that client emotions can provide as an attempt to develop strong, safe relationships.

Issues I Treat

  • Veterans/Military Service External link

My past experience includes working at the Portland VA. Through this experience, along with my Military family, I have gained the knowledge to assist Veterans and their families in the unique culture of the Military. As a specialist, I will help to empower you to combat your issues and develop strong relationships; giving you tools to assist in living a healthy and productive life.

  • Family Conflict External link

I believe that relationship therapy is a joint effort between the individual members of a family system. My philosophy views individuals, families, and couples, from a systemic perspective. That is, we are all wired to have relationship together. I assist families with a variety of tools to help heal their family relationships.

  • Relationship / Marriage Issues External link

I am here to come alongside you in your marriage, family, career, and social relationships. Within our therapeutic relationship, we will integrate your mind, body, culture, and spiritual makeup, to assist you to gain a better understanding of your experiences, and work with you for healing. My approach is through intersubjectivity (IS) and emotion focused therapy (EFT), helping to guide you.

  • Loss or Grief External link

Coping with the loss of someone or something that you love is one of the biggest challenges people can face. The pain of loss can feel overwhelming. Many people may experience all types of unexpected emotions. If you are experiencing different emotions following a loss, it might help to know that your reaction is natural. I help guide you through your loss in a safe and trusting environment.

  • Anxiety External link

Anxiety surfaces in several different forms. If you feel you are experiencing anxiety, exploring your circumstances and reflecting on what is happening in your life, can assist in gaining an understanding of what is causing your anxiety symptoms.
